The nearest district high school is located in Carnamah, with a bus service operating for the students. Western Power is located in Three Springs, with a large sub-station located on the edge of town. Power comes up from Perth, and is distributed across the region, hence our slogan "Powering the Region". Water Corp is also located in Three Springs, and along with the Three Springs Primary School, these government agencies provide employment opportunities for local communtiy members. Sport plays an important role within our community, and there is a strong support network for both winter and summer sports. Facilities include ovals, hockey fields, netball courts, swimming pool, golf course, bowling green, tennis courts and a clay pigeon club. Three Springs is primarily a broadacre farming area, but there is also livestock production including sheep and cattle. We are also home to the second largest talc mine in the southern hemisphere Mining commenced in 1948, and it is anticipated that the mine will be operational for at least another 40 years. The mine also provides employment opportunities for community members.
